About Yoga
It is said that Yoga originated about 5000 years ago in India. Since then many teachers and students have practiced, learned, studied, amended and researched Yoga, until today we have a myriad of different styles and approaches. The wealth and richness of knowledge about yoga is vast. And whilst it is great to have so much information and enough variation for yoga to be able to suit everyone, it can be very confusing for new students (or even old ones!). To make it easier we have created a page which summarises the different yoga styles and gives you some idea of how the various styles can be applied to different problems, areas or people <<click here to see this page>>.
All styles of yoga have a few things in common. For now lets just say that generally yoga practice combines breathing techniques (pranayama) with physical postures (asana), to create a form of exercise which can bring not only a healthier body but also a calmer and more relaxed approach to life. A good yoga practice should include placing your awareness and mental focus on the body and breath during practice, and it is this awareness and mindful approach to movement and breathing that makes yoga such an incredible experience. During yoga practice the rest of the world disappears and one focuses entirely on the present moment, enabling you to shed (even if only temporarily) all worries and concerns. And that’s why Pure Energy World wants to bring yoga to more people. For more information about yoga please click here.
